GSL Education are working with a vibrant Special Needs Secondary school situated just outside Portsmouth. They are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a positive attitude to join their friendly Year 8 team.
This school caters for children who have special educational needs, including those with social and communication difficulties, autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
The school prioritises outdoor learning and has a range of fantastic facilities such as a swimming pool, lots of sports facilities as well as a gardening area where the children can learn and grow.
Job role:
- Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and communication skills.
- Conducting targeted interventions focused on the individual needs of a child.
- Working under the guidance of a teacher supporting small groups of pupils with learning tasks.
- Creating a supportive and nurturing environment where the needs of all children are met.
- Safeguarding will be your number one priority ensuring the welfare of the pupils.
Job specification:
- Full time 8:30am – 3:30pm (Mon – Fri)
- £384.60 - £460 per week
- Temporary to permanent contract
- Location: Portsmouth
- Start date: ASAP
