Tate are working with a local authority in their search for an experienced Project Manager to work on an exciting construction project.
The aim of this project is to develop a world class facility for the children and young people of Bristol.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading project teams to deliver construction projects providing timely instructions and support to all the relevant stakeholders
Work with built environment contractors and developers (stakeholders) adhering to development agreements.
Beware of and ensure the application of the necessary measures to meet CDM 2015 requirements
To be available to deal with onsite issues in appropriate and timely fashion
Proactively manage stakeholder expectations in order to deliver projects on budget and in line with construction programmes
The ability to manage internal budgets and apply a problem-solving approach to issues and challenges
Bringing together and lead the resources needed to evaluate each of the available options
Developing business cases for the firmer proposals that emerge from the evaluations and progressing these through the council's decision-making processes
Establishing and maintaining appropriate governance for the project, including progress reporting to the project board
Updating and maintaining key project controls (e.g. plan, RAID log, budget management) using our project management software
Reporting progress to Director of Children and Education TransformationKnowledge, skills and experience
Development and management of construction projects
Significant experience of options appraisal and business case development
Familiarity with public sector procurement, including preparing tender and contract documents, and securing and delivering Social Value outcomes.
Ability to control budgets relating to allocated projects and achieve financial targets set out. This includes forecasting, monitoring, authorising, reviewing and controlling expenditure. As required perform commercial risk analysis, and value management activities and reporting.
Experience and understanding of standard forms of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT, and Professional Service Contracts for consultant teams.
