Description of the Project
The Isle of Grain Project is part of a wider programme of works to expand the capacity of the largest Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Tank terminal in Europe, located on the Isle of Grain.
The project is being delivered by VINCI Construction subsidiaries including Entrepose Contracting, VINCI Construction Grand Projects and Taylor Woodrow, (EVT). The works involve the engineering, procurement, and construction of 190,000m3 LNG tank on behalf of our Client, National Grid.
Works are scheduled to continue until summer 2025.
1. Scope of Services
Technical support in relation to hydrotest activities:
In autumn 2024, hydrotesting of the LNG Tank is scheduled. In order to complete this test EVT are required to obtain permits for the discharge of 130,000m3 of potable water including agreed for rights of access. A permit to discharge application has been developed and submitted to the Environment Agency. This discrete package of work will involve:
* Engagement with the Environment Agency to update the team on progress.
* Where required, liaise with the EVY project team and their consultants to address queries from the Environment Agency.
* Once the permit has been agreed, brief the EVT project team on the conditions of the Consent; and
* Carry out assurance visits during the discharge activities, reporting any concerns immediately to the Project Director and HSE Manager.
Project Environmental Support
Provision of an environmental consultant to provide ongoing advice and support to the Isle of Grain EVT Project. Specifically, this will involve:
* Maintain and update all project environmental management plans in accordance with planned works and schedule of permits and licensing.
* Collate monthly Client and JV partner environmental reporting
* Attendance to EVT and Client progress and HSE meetings
* Carry out joint Client and EVT site inspections on a weekly basis. Conducted on a Wednesday.
* Maintain stockpile tracker and test data in support of the Clients Materials Management Plan.
* Carbon reporting
* Management, co-ordination and assurance of environmental permits and licenses. This will include the management of consultants engaged to deliver discrete packages of work in support of obtaining relevant permits and licenses.
* Working with the EVT Project team to advise when resources are required in support of the project programme, e.g. archaeological watching brief, permits and licenses.
* Lead on environmental incident investigation.
* Internal delivery of training and toolbox talks for EVT project team as required.
Competencies
* Environmental degree or relevant discipline.
* Proven track record of obtaining environmental consents and licenses, including leading the engagement with the Environment Agency
