Fabric Cell Operative / Sewing Machinist

Due to continued expansion, we're recruiting an experienced Fabric Cell Operative / Sewing Machinist to join our well established client.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring that fabrics are accurately produced, you will work well within a team and work to the highest standards possible.
* Mark out the joint positions and fix the jointing tape.
* Take the lengths and join them to create the width, then sew them.
* Take the product to the marking out bench. Set out the final size of the product. Trim as required.
* Sew hems and pockets as required.
* Reporting accidents or near misses immediately.
* Be responsible for your own Health and Safety, as well as others in the factory.
* Carry out work issued by your Team Leader/Factory Supervisor to the correct quality (ISO) within reasonable timeframes.
* Ensure that materials are utilised fully to alleviate waste.
* Report any shortages of materials to the Team Leader/Supervisor, in order to keep production flowing.
* Carry out routine maintenance, reporting any faults with equipment, materials and/or work processes.
* Be willing to contribute to progressing any area of the fabric cell.
* Assist and have input into R&D projects. Playing an active role in continuous improvement.
* Undertake any relevant training as required by the business.
Requirements:
* Previously worked on an industrial sewing machine.
* Worked within a team.
* Enjoy working with & helping others.
* Have attention to detail.
* Able to manage repetitive work.
* Ability to produce high quality results.
* Can understand technical drawings, for sewing/product making purposes.
* Ability to undertake physical manual work.
Salary: £11.50 Per Hour + regular overtime available at a good overtime rate.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07.30am – 4.30pm & Friday 07.30am – 1.00pm.
