We are seeking an experienced and reliable Shunter for a 4-week placement in Ashford, Kent. 

As a Shunter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth movement of vehicles and trailers within a controlled environment.

Location: Ashford (Kent) 

Pay Rate: £15.62 per hour 

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts, 4 on / 4 off rota 

Duration: 4-week placement (starting end of April)

Key Responsibilities:

Safely manoeuvring HGVs and trailers in and around the site, including parking, coupling, and uncoupling.
Conducting pre- and post-movement safety checks on vehicles and trailers.
Coordinating with team members to ensure vehicles are positioned in loading bays or designated areas efficiently.
Using hand signals or communication systems to guide movements and maintain site safety.
Identifying and reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
Supporting overall site operations to ensure smooth logistical workflows.Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience as a Shunter or in a similar role.
Attention to detail and commitment to adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 4 on / 4 off rota.
A Basic DBS certificate is essential for this role.
