Quality Control Inspector vacancy on TDA alliance. This is for legacy pond work situated on Sellafield site, Cumbria.

The rate is negotiable and the duration of this role is not defined.

Job Requirements:

• The acceptance and/or rejection of products by inspecting to verify compliance with the appropriate specifications, procedures, drawings and inspection and test plans
• Attend Kick off meetings / supplier performance meetings
• To initiate non-conformances on items that do not meet the specified quality requirements
• To comply with and ensure understanding of legislative / regulatory compliance, policy, standards and procedures
• To carry out inspection or surveillance activities to ensure that full technical procedural compliance is achieved throughout the manufacturing/fabrication lifecycle
• To verify that the correct, defined and calibrated equipment (measurement and test equipment (MTE) are used both by others and by themselves
• Verification of Lifetime Records (LTR’s) to ensure that the requirements of technical standards as well specific user/client specifications have been met
• To produce accurate and timely Inspection Reports
• Provide advice and appropriate technical support to customers or suppliers on Quality Control (QC) and Inspection issues
• Demonstrate levels of competence in line with the competency requirements for the role, and maintain skill levels through continued professional development and training
• Acting as mentors to new inspectors.
• Support sub-contractor audits (technical input)

Authorities:

• Accepts/rejects product, plant and associated Lifetime records on behalf of SL up to and including Very High Risk (Quality Grade 01 items)

Raises any quality deviation or non-conformance as an event to trigger investigation and learning.

Qualifications:

• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspection
• PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Inspection
• PCN Level 2 MPI
• PCN Level 3 Radiographic Interpretation of welds
• Member of CQI
• Computer Literate
