Pure Care are currently seeking a part-time Maintenance Person to join a lovely 40 bedded elderly care home in the Hindhead area. This will be working 2 to 3 days per week with flexible shifts and days to suit the successful applicant.

As the Maintenance Person you will take responsibility for ensuring that the care home is a safe and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can properly carry out their duties. You will address any maintenance concerns promptly, and your duties will be a mix of PPM and reactive work where applicable. This can range from fire alarm tests through to basic plumbing and decorating duties.

You must have a good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, and have the ability to assess and manage risk. Importantly, you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative and address potential issues as they may arise before they affect the daily running of the Care Home.

Care Home Maintenance Person - Key Responsibilities

* Check maintenance books in the home at the start of your day and carry out repairs as required, or contact qualified engineers where applicable (In agreement with the Home Manager)

* Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times within the Care Home, reporting any incidents, accidents, infections or hazards/ faults.

* Complete all checks as stipulated in the log, on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required.

Care Home Maintenance Person – Skills & Experience

* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills

* Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Maintenance Worker is preferred

* Relevant qualifications would be beneficial but not essential

* E.g. Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, City & Guilds, PAT Testing
