My client are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our team at a leading building and civil engineering contractor based in Newcastle. The Document Controller will be responsible for managing and maintaining all project documentation related to building and civil engineering works, ensuring that documents are stored, tracked, and easily accessible for all team members. This is a key role to ensure that all project documents are handled according to company standards and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Document Management
* Version Control and Communication
* Quality Control and Compliance
* Monitor and track document revisions, ensuring that the most current versions are available to all relevant stakeholders.
* Notify project teams and subcontractors of new revisions and ensure that all parties are working from the latest documentation.
* Assist in maintaining accurate project records, ensuring that document control systems are regularly updated with the latest information.
* Provide regular reports on document status and progress to project managers and senior leadership.
* Use document management software to track and store documents electronically (e.g., Procore, Aconex, or similar systems).
* Manage the archiving process for completed projects, ensuring all relevant documentation is properly stored for future reference or legal requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
* A qualification in construction management, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
* Knowledge of document control best practices and standards in the construction or civil engineering industry.
* At least 2 years of experience in a document control or administrative role, ideally within the construction, building, or civil engineering sector.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document management and reporting.
Remuneration:
* Full-time, permanent role based at the company’s office in Newcastle, with occasional travel to project sites as required.
