Building Safety Consultant - Oxford (Other Locations Considered)

About the Role
As a Building Safety Consultant, you will act as a principal consultant for building regulations compliance, supporting clients across a diverse range of projects. You will ensure designs meet regulations, providing expert guidance to designers and project teams. This role offers a balance of office, home, and site work, with responsibilities split across compliance tracking, design team meetings, and occasional site visits.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct plan checks and maintain compliance trackers, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Lead discussions with designers and project managers to resolve compliance queries and ensure designs are fully compliant.
Support design teams through design review meetings and maintain regular communication with stakeholders.
Visit project sites to verify that construction aligns with approved designs.
Work on multiple projects, with up to 10 projects at any one time.
Act as a compliance expert for various frameworks, including education, defence, and commercial projects (you will not be working on High Rise Building Projects)
Provide technical expertise to support and upskill building surveyors on complex projects.
Requirements

Accredited Building Inspector with relevant qualifications (Class 2, 3 or 4)
Demonstrated experience in building regulations compliance and working within a Principal Designer framework.
Strong understanding of compliance processes, particularly within non-high-rise building projects.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility to work across office, home, and site environments.
Willingness to mentor and upskill junior staff and support the team with challenging technical queries.
