We have a rewarding opportunity for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join our Davenport service which supports Children and Young People with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (EBD).

Hours  -  37.5 hours per week worked on a 7 day rota with 2 non-working days each week.

About the position….

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a team providing support to the children and young people in our care.  Emphasis is placed on their physical, emotional, social needs and rights, while also promoting their personal growth and independence.

You will assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans working in partnership with other agencies also considering the wishes and feelings of the young people.

You will maximise educational opportunities and achievements along with undertaking direct work that is designed to meet the young people's needs as identified with the care plan.

Under close supervision you will take responsibility for keyworking at least one young person.

You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.

About you….

We look for applicants who have the following skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be expected to liaise with other staff, parents/carers, and professionals.

An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.

A good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential as a requirement of the role will be writing reports and keeping records of the Children and Young Peoples progress. 

Transporting children / young people to an activity or school is a requirement. A driving licence that has been held for 12 months would be desirable.
