Learning Support Assistant – Haringey - Immediate
A specialist deaf provision within a primary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with hearing impairments and additional Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly supportive team, ensuring that children receive the tailored support they need to succeed in their learning and development.
Role Overview
Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Haringey
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £29,000 - £30,000 (Term Time Only Pro Rata)
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with SEN students within a school setting (Essential)
Be willing to learn British Sign Language (BSL) to support students with hearing impairments (No prior BSL knowledge required)
Be able to support students with communication, sensory, and learning needs
Have a patient and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs
Work well within a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, SENCOs, and specialist staff
Your Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small-group support for students with hearing impairments and SEN
Assist in developing communication strategies, including the use of visual aids and alternative methods
Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities
Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment
Work alongside teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans
