Job Vacancy: Science Teacher

Description of the Role:
Simply Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students in a dynamic and engaging science department, with the chance to teach across Key Stage 3, 4, and potentially 5 (depending on experience). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality science lessons, fostering a passion for science, and supporting students to achieve their best academically.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5).
Develop and implement schemes of work and assessments that meet the needs of all students.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting lessons to support individual learning needs.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations, using a variety of teaching strategies to ensure exam success.
Maintain high standards of behavior management in the classroom, promoting a positive learning environment.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the science curriculum.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and implement effective teaching strategies.
Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and development.
Engage in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practice.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Science or a related subject (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential; teaching experience at Key Stage 5 is desirable.
Strong understanding of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a supportive, stimulating, and challenging learning environment.
A passion for teaching and inspiring students to pursue science.
Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
