SEND 1-1 Experienced Teaching Assistant required in South Staffordshire

Do you hold a Level 3 NVQ certificate related to Education or equivalent? Have you provided 1-1 SEND TA work before? Do you have experience supporting children who have ADHD, SEMH, sensory and physical needs?

TeacherActive work closely with a mainstream Secondary School in South Staffordshire, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with ADHD and other additional needs, to join them after them in April 2025. The school are looking for a very experienced Teaching Assistant, who has excellent behavioural management, and experience in supporting children with sensory and physical needs, who can support a student on a 1-1 basis.

The role will include:

Supporting a student on a 1-1 basis
Supporting with diverse learning needs and ADHD
Providing guidance and encouragement
Providing individualised and flexible support
Understanding and implementing behavioural management strategies
Helping create and maintain and positive working environment
Liaising with the class teacher and SENDCo, SLT, parent’s or carers when appropriate
Monitoring student's progress
Roles requirements:

At least 2 years experience supporting secondary school students with additional needs including ADHA and SEMH
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students and staff
Excellent communication skills
Excellent behavioural management skills
Availability to work 8:30-3:30 term time
Ability to commit to a long-term role
