GSL Education is looking to hire a SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) experienced for a client school in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual with a proven history of helping to raise student achievement.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Experienced, you will join a committed team dedicated to creating a nurturing and supportive environment where all students can thrive. Your role will be instrumental in assisting students to reach their full potential and develop vital life skills.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Experienced (Autism Spectrum Disorder) include:

Supporting students with ASD in both their academic and social development.
Collaborating with the class teacher to implement tailored learning plans.
Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
Encouraging positive behaviour and providing emotional support to students.
Monitoring student progress and reporting to teachers and parents.
Promoting independence and fostering social interaction among students.
Essential requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Experienced role include:

Experience working with children with ASD or in a similar SEN role.
A calm, understanding approach to managing challenging behaviours.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one immediately.
