This role will require the person to obtain full Security Clearance (SC) You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to Caveat Material which means there are restrictions on nationalities. Would you like to work within our Enterprise IT business working on infrastructure support and projects that come to us providing the IT infrastructure & Support for the Company? We currently have a vacancy for a Kubernetes administrator.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be involved in the day to day management and monitoring of services and their supporting infrastructure components. The bespoke individual IT systems are managed using an ITIL Framework and principals and you will be responsible for the investigation of arising issues, resolved against the defined Service Level Agreements.

About The Role

The successful candidate will join the Enterprise IT - Infrastructure Engineering team. You will have responsibility for delivering new enabling capabilities, developing and delivering templated systems, resolving infrastructure support issues and maintaining, managing and optimising the overall performance and availability of the infrastructure.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Kubernetes developer who is highly skilled and can work independently. They will be responsible for implementing design patterns for distributed systems, configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines, etc. The candidate must have experience with microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.

Core Duties

Typical duties include (but are not limited to):

· Stand up\install on premise kubernetes environment to a agreed design.

· Create the container infrastructure platform for the company

· Improve the monitoring and alert system

· Troubleshoot issues and solve problems where needed

· Share knowledge across the team of the implementations

· Developing and Maintaining systems configuration item (CI) baselines in alignment with the Service Management Configuration Management Plan.

· Assisting on work within the area of specialism, taking account of interfaces and approved data; Providing analysis and support of problems related to platform and support system issues and generate proposed solutions

· Supporting the development of processes to ensure discipline technical quality is communicated across all discipline levels of IM&T engineers; ensuring these meet all governance and business requirements;

· Researching problems and issues, gather information from a range of physical and informational sources, review defects on platform or assembly in order to gain a complete understanding of the problem and all relevant circumstances

· Engaging with customer representatives and suppliers in writing, by telephone and in face to face meetings, and with other internal functions as necessary to discuss technical issues and problems

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

Skills and Experience

Essential:

* Experience in installation of Kubnetes Environments

· Experience in the administration and support aspects of a multiple Kubernetes environments.

· Experience in the sharing of knowledge through a team to better deploy technologies through a department.

· Documentation skills required to ensure build documents are up to date.

Desirable:

* Linux - CentOS / Red Hat operating system skills

Personal skills

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an international environment.

* Capable of handling multiple priorities in fast paced surroundings.

* Ability to cope with occasional pressure.

* Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).

* Flexible approach to work with the ability to pro-actively take the initiative and work independently with little supervision, and also to be part of a collaborative team where ideas & skills are shared.
