With a formal Family Therapist qualification, you know one or two things about delivering great healthcare. From a friendly face, to providing professional support, you will join Brighton and Hove Hospital where you will feel valued and supported.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will work alongside the dedicated team at Brighton and Hove Hospital, a specialist CAMHS Eating Disorder service for children and young people aged 12-18 years. You will be a part of an environment that has a strong emphasis on teamwork and empowers recovery with career opportunities available to see your career grow.
You will be responsible for the delivery of systemic family psychotherapy within the service, providing systemic assessments and interventions to young people who have been admitted to the ward and their families or support systems. You will support staff development in the service, and will take on a role in training, consultations and staff support, as well as providing systemic input into the multidisciplinary team.
You will receive regular clinical and professional supervision and will be supported to continue developing your clinical and leadership skills as part of your ongoing career development. You will join a proactive and enthusiastic Therapies Team, as well as having access to a strong network of CAMHS psychological therapists across Elysium Healthcare. There are excellent opportunities for professional development within the role.
You will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service users caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, supporting families and care plans and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment within CAMHS Eating Disorder services.

As a Systematic Family Therapist, you will be:
Providing highly-skilled systemic interventions for the families of young people with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, learning difficulties and/or developmental problems.
Providing in-depth risk-assessments of young people who are at risk to themselves and to be able to formulate both short-term and long-term crisis planning.
Providing evidence-based and formulation-driven systemic perspectives to multidisciplinary risk management, care planning and decision-making.
Managing a complex caseload as the family therapist working within a multidisciplinary team, as well as facilitating groups where appropriate, such as carer support groups.
Monitoring clinical progress through regular reviews of systemic treatment.
Engaging and working with young people with a range of mental health needs and developmental difficulties, drawing upon your wealth of theoretical and practical knowledge.
Supporting staff development through the provision of training, consultation, formulation meetings and reflective practice sessions.
Contributing to service developments within the Therapies Team and wider service.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Completed a Qualifying course in Systemic Psychotherapy at Master’s or doctorate level, accredited by the AFT
Registration with UKCP
Experience working with adolescents and their families presenting with complex mental health needs, high-risk behaviours and neurodevelopmental conditions in a CAMHS setting.
