We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team, based in Grantham. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department and ensuring the financial stability of our organisation. From handling invoices to assisting with financial reports, you will have the opportunity to work across various accounting tasks and contribute to the smooth running of our financial operations.
As the Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and timely management reports, including financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
* Conduct variance analysis to identify areas of concern or improvement
* Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial data to senior management and stakeholders
* Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end financial close
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
* Assisting with audit preparations and providing support as needed
Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
* 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software including Sage
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Professional certification such as ACCA or AAT would be advantageous.
