Specialising in coded welding, 3 axis machining, fabrication, laser cutting, sub-assembly & assembly work and post process treatments management. JOB PURPOSE
Fabricators wanted to work at our facility in Bristol to work on Highly specified Fabrications for the defence sector. Types of welding will be fillet welding and butt welding.
JOB SPECIFICATION
* To be able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
* Assemble steel components using hand-held tools and equipment
* Understand and work to client specifications
* Operation of overhead crane and safe slinging and lifting techniques to assist Fabrications
* Work to SAM quality procedures
* Assist in the training and development of SAM apprentices
* Working to SAM Health & Safety requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
* Formal Sheetmetal/fabrication apprenticeship,
* Understanding of MIG and Tig welding
* Good hand/eye coordination
* Able to work to SAM quality procedures and Health & Safety requirements
* Keeping work area’s clean and tidy and can demonstrate the ability to work within the 5S philosophy
* Willingness to take direction from Supervisors and follow that direction
* Self-starter and able to take the initiative when not working under direct supervision
* Ability to read and understand technical documents such drawing
* Ability to prioritise, meet targets and achieve deadlines
* Willingness to learn and develop self and apprentices
SALARY/BENEFITS
* £16.50 per hour (£33, 462 per annum) + OT (£38k OTE)
