Location: Kent/South East Area
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 5 days from 7
Salary: up to £28,000 (depending on experience) plus bonus opportunity, plus excellent benefits package

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fresh Food Coach working within our Blakemore Retail division to cover our SPAR stores in the Kent/South East area. 

A day in the life of…

As Fresh food coach you will be supporting our Store/Regional Managers with the development of sales & profitability of our fresh departments within our company owned SPAR stores. Our fresh categories include our own brand Food to go; company owned Philpotts; Foodservice partners Greggs & Subway, produce, meat and flower departments.

About the Role

Retail is ever changing and as we continue to transform our stores and grow our presence to meet increasing customer demand, we are looking for customer focused leaders to support Store Managers deliver and drive service excellence within our stores. The successful applicant will be obsessed about our purpose and our customers, helping deliver the in-store fresh departments to the highest standards, and ensuring our customers have an outstanding shopping experience.

Key accountabilities; Reporting into the Senior Fresh Food coach, you will also;

Support all areas of fresh development in circa of 20 company owned stores within your area.
To identify and implement opportunities to enhance the product range in conjunction with the Trading department
To effectively launch new products into your stores.
Support store relaunches to include staff training and ensure opening day standards are met.
To implement core ranges and to monitor adherence.
To review and amend departmental layouts to ensure maximum impact (including the use of POS)
To maximise the impact of promotional activity (in conjunction with the Trading department)
To review equipment/fixtures in existing and acquired stores to ensure it maximises sales potential (in conjunction with the Development Department) 
To monitor sales, GP and waste/override and to take corrective action when necessary ( in conjunction with Area Managers)
To develop, implement and audit systems to ensure all legal requirements are met
To assist Area/Store Managers in the recruitment of staff to work in the ‘Fresh’ departments. (in conjunction with Human Resources)
To develop and deliver an in-store training and exam programme for Food Service department staff. 
To ensure staffing levels are sufficient to meet projected sales targets (in conjunction with Regional/Store Managers
Maintain relationships between ourselves and Franchise partners to ensure we are operating within our agreed levels.
Timely responses to email queries 
Role model our ‘Blakemore Way’ leadership values.
Identify and develop talent within store departments
 
Key Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required 

Understanding of Natasha’s law 
Basic IT Skills
Good standard of numeracy and literacy
Food service experience Inc. Franchise partners
Experience in Food safety training
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivated
Flexible
Results driven
Full UK driving license

26 days holiday per year   (Increasing after 3 years) + 8 bank holidays in lieu as per working  rota. 
Whilst the company does not recognise customary holidays, additional payments are made for the following, for working a minimum of 8 hours (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day & Easter Monday)
