About the role:
We are looking for an empathetic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who specializes in managing challenging behaviours. Working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, you will provide vital support to children with additional needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to develop strategies that promote positive behaviour and learning outcomes. This is a full-time, long-term position where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of young learners who need your expertise and care.
Application Requirements:
• Relevant experience working with children with challenging behaviours, particularly within a school or educational setting.
• Strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Patience, resilience, and a caring attitude are essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to pupils with challenging behaviours, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and safe learning environment.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to deliver interventions and encourage engagement in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development, building their confidence and self-esteem.
