Control Systems Engineer – Motorsport | High-Performance Engineering We’re working with a pioneering motorsport organisation at the forefront of race car innovation and performance. With multiple exciting programmes in development – including next-gen gearbox systems, integration with a new power unit supplier, and the introduction of a cutting-edge ECU platform – this is a unique opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in a world-class engineering environment.

You'll be part of a highly skilled electronics team, contributing to projects that span from on-car control systems and simulation platforms to data analysis and calibration tools – all focused on achieving the ultimate goal: championship-winning performance.

What You’ll Be Doing
Develop and deliver electronic control systems for on-car applications, test rigs, and simulators (HIL/DIL).

Take full ownership of control system projects – from specification through to testing and release.

Manage ECU calibrations and software configurations for optimal performance.

Develop internal tools for calibration, data monitoring, analysis, and optimisation.

Support and refine the operation of the standard ECU software and calibration.

Investigate and resolve issues using telemetry, HIL, and SIL environments.

Create and evolve HIL simulation models to improve test coverage and accuracy.

Contribute to internal coding standards and systems development methodologies.

Provide factory and occasional trackside support for race and testing operations.

What We’re Looking For
A degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or similar.

Strong control theory and analytical skills.

Solid experience with McLaren Applied SECU, ATLAS, and System Monitor.

Proven ability in real-time control software development using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow with autocoding tools.

Experience with modelling/simulating systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic components.

Familiarity with high-speed data acquisition and analysis tools.

A data-driven mindset and proactive problem-solving approach.

A flexible team player who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Motorsport or F1 control systems experience is highly desirable.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.
