Integrity Education Solutions are supporting an independent SEN group, who provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for young people with neurodiverse educational needs. They are seeking to appoint a SENCo for one of their unique community alternative provision services based in East London, that delivers highly personalised, community-based education to children and young people who require an alternative to traditional schooling.
You will be a passionate and experienced SENCo able to provide exceptional support to the children within your care. This will involve you playing a pivotal role in ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) receive the support they need to thrive. You will work closely with teachers, families, and external agencies to ensure that educational provisions meet the unique needs of each student.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and coordinate SEN provision across the school, ensuring the highest quality of support for students with SEN and disabilities.
* Develop, implement, and monitor personalised learning plans (EHCPs) for each student, working collaboratively with staff and external professionals.
* Oversee and assess the progress of students with SEN, identifying needs, and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
* Provide guidance and training to teaching staff to support differentiated teaching strategies and interventions.
* Liaise with families and carers to ensure effective communication and partnership in supporting student development.
* Stay up to date with relevant policies, practices, and legislation in SEN to ensure compliance and best practice.
* Work as part of the leadership team to drive inclusive teaching practices across the school.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* National SENCo Qualification (or willingness to undertake).
* Proven experience working with students with complex SEN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other learning difficulties.
* A thorough understanding of SEND Code of Practice and experience in writing and reviewing EHCPs.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
* A passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable students.
* The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Salary: £47,000 - £50,000 (Unqualified – Without NASENCo) / £54,000 - £57,000 (Qualified – NASENCo qualified)
