The Education Network is looking to assist a local SEND school recruit an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to commence November 2024. This is a long-term role and may turn into a permanent position for the right candidate. You will work under the guidance of teaching staff, to support the pupils in and out of the classroom. You should have effective communication skills as you will have to liaise between both the student and class teachers. You will be involved in assisting the teacher in the planning cycle and preparation of resources. You must be aware of the sensory needs with ASD, and encourage pupils to interact with each other co-operatively, as well as engaging in their studies.

The school is easily accessible by public transport (bus/train), should you not have access to your own vehicle.

The successful candidates will:

– Have previous experience of working in a similar environment, or with those with similar needs

– Have experience in the development and implementation of IEPs

– Be able to support students with their intimate care needs, should they require it
– A willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities
– Be keen to learn and develop professionally

– Be able to work on their own initiative, as well as collaboratively
– Be pro-active team members, committed to raising standards and achievements of all students
– Have a passion for education that shows in your approach and methodology
