Overall Junior Product Owner Job Purpose:
To work for the Lead Product Manager of the IT & Digital Transformation Team to be mentored and supported to manage various product workstreams that form part of the IT Programme. Working with key stakeholders to ensure product requirements and strategy are accurately captured and appropriate workstreams are defined using Agile methodologies. Working closely with the Development and QA teams to ensure end-to-end product delivery.
Junior Product Owner Role Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the definition of the product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities
* Provide support for vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the projects
* Facilitate workshops leading to the creation of detailed requirements
* Manage the full product lifecycle from stories through to UAT testing and sign-off for allocated workstream
* Ensure that the development team always has an adequate number of prepared tasks to work on
* Contribute to the planning and prioritisation of the product feature backlog and development for the product
* Present documentation to enable Lead Product Owner to assess value, develop cases, and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
* Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
* Contribute to planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
* Create release notes for varied audiences
* Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
* Research and analyse market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
* Follow our competitors and the industry
* Begin training to have strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum best practices and latest trends
Junior Product Owner Person Specification: Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
* Basic knowledge of Agile process and principles
* Strong communication (both written and verbal), presentation and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work towards deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
* Creative thinker with a vision
* Strong attention to details
* Enthusiastic, driven and self-motivating
* Experience in a hospitality or retail environment beneficial but not necessary
