SEN English Teacher

English Teaching post in a Special school

£31650 - £43607 Per annum

Immediate Start

We are looking for a full time English teacher to join one of our partner schools, they are a rural SEN setting, accessible to those in Thetford, and surrounding areas as well as Suffolk and West Norfolk. Due to the location, access to own transport is highly desirable. 

The role will see you supporting young people with additional needs such as; Autism, complex needs, social emotional and mental health needs. They cater for pupils of Primary and Secondary age, but this particular role would be to support their secondary learners. 

The school are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible,so you would need to be available to start from January, the role will be for a minimum of term term, however should the placement be successful there would be an opportunity for a permanent or fixed term contract with the school. 

The role:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and inclusive English lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as required
Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment to promote academic and personal growth
Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
Stay up to date with educational developments and adapt teaching methods to meet changing needs

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Specialist knowledge in teaching English to students with SEN such as SEMH and Complex needs
If you do not hold QTS but you are qualified to degree level and have experience in education we would still like to hear from you
Prior teaching experience, preferably working with students with SEN. If you have not taught in an SEN before but have supposed SEN learners, we would still like to hear from you

Knowledge and Skills:

Good understanding of SEN practises and strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Effective classroom management skills
Working with Teaching Personnel

We will work with you throughout your placement to ensure you are supported and happy in your role, it's vital that placements are the right match for both the educator and school which is why we spend time getting to understand your requirements and what 

CPD Academy - you will have acces to 

This role involves working in a school setting, interacting with students, parents, and colleagues on a daily basis. Some additional hours may be required for planning and assessment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
