Mechanical Design Engineer
Formula 1 - Northampton – 12 month contract - Hybrid - 3 days a week on site
This amazing long term contract role for a mechanical design engineer a is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world leading Formula 1 organisation.
You will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 projects. The duration of this contract is estimated to be 12 months minimum and will be inside IR35.
This is a hybrid position and there is a requirement for 3 days a week on site in Northamptonshire.
What you will do
We're looking for Mechanical Designers with experience of using Siemens NX and who are capable of demonstrating recent experience of concept design of highly stressed metallic parts, ideally with experience of powertrain design.
The role of mechanical design is more than just driving CAD. You will of course be using CAD to create and modify geometry (in NX) but will also be expected to be capable in the following:
* Good understanding of the CAE/FEM process and perhaps be able to do simple hand calcs. Have knowledge of basic material properties. OR, be capable of doing accurate geometry of engine parts/ancillaries
What you will need:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or experience in lieu
* Be fluent on NX solid modelling.
* Be capable of demonstrating recent experience of concept design of highly stressed parts
* Consistent & stable history of employment/engagement
* Authorised to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
