Job Description:

Do you enjoy working with children and are looking for a flexible role? We are seeking a Meal Time Assistant to join our team on a supply basis in Barnstaple, supporting local primary schools during lunchtime. This ad-hoc position is ideal for someone who is available to work as needed, ensuring a positive and safe dining experience for students.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise children during lunch breaks, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Assist students with opening food containers, cutting food, and any other lunchtime needs.
Encourage positive behavior and table manners during meal times.
Manage the dining area, including cleaning tables and ensuring a tidy environment.
Support students with any issues that arise during lunch, such as spills or disputes.
Work closely with school staff to ensure smooth and efficient lunch periods.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children is an advantage but not essential.
Friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with young children.
Flexibility to work on an ad-hoc basis, sometimes with little notice.
Ability to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
