Our client is recognized as a foremost independently owned firm specializing in Building Services Consulting Engineering in the northern region of England. With three strategically located offices, the firm guarantees extensive local coverage across Yorkshire, the North West, and the North East regions. This industry-leading mechanical and electrical (M&E) practice undertakes projects nationwide for a diverse array of clients in both the private and public sectors. They provide comprehensive Mechanical and Electrical design services, supplemented by a dedicated sustainability team that offers expertise in low-energy design and decarbonization strategies. This capacity enables them to effectively manage projects of varying sizes and complexities. In light of the recent expansion of the MEP team, they are currently seeking to recruit an Associate HVAC Designer to join their team.

Location: Manchester (City Centre)

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (depending on the experience)

The purpose of the Role:

As an Associate HVAC Designer you will be an essential part of the mechanical design team, helping to reach new heights of excellence in every project undertaken. Our client seeks a visionary leader who understands the importance of sustainable building services and demonstrates a strong passion for innovation and quality. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience to oversee every aspect of mechanical design, guiding us from the initial concept all the way to project completion. They will advocate for advanced technologies and sustainable practices, guaranteeing that our designs align with the most recent industry standards and low-carbon requirements regulations.

This role is perfect for a proactive individual who enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously while sticking to budget constraints and timelines, all in the pursuit of delivering outstanding results. Additionally, this position will be key to fostering strong client relationships, as they will collaborate closely with architects, stakeholders, and clients to create comprehensive and innovative design solutions that not only meet but exceed expectations.

As an Associate HVAC Designer, you’ll need to have:

* Broad Expertise: Demonstrated success in mechanical (HVAC) design in the building services sector, possessing at least 10 years of pertinent experience..

* Technical Skills: Proficient in using design software like AutoCAD and Revit-MEP, along with a deep understanding of mechanical systems and their components.

* Project Management: Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to budgets and timelines, with experience in leading large-scale projects.

* Sustainable Practices: Comprehensive knowledge of sustainable design principles and low-carbon regulations, emphasising the application of energy-efficient solutions.

* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to mentor and guide junior colleagues effectively, with experience leading a team of engineers.

* Client Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, architects, and stakeholders, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

* Continuous Learning: A commitment to remaining informed about developments and advancements within the industry through a proactive approach to professional development and training.

* Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, codes, and HVAC design and building services regulations.

* Certification: Attaining professional engineering certification, such as Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE), is highly desirable.
