Astute People's Power Team are exclusively working with the South Clyde Energy Centre to recruit a full complement of Operations & Maintenance staff. The plant, currently under construction, is capable of processing up to 350,000 tonnes of waste per year, producing power for up to 70,000 homes. This new build Power Station is due to enter commercial operation by the end of 2026. Now is an ideal time to join the power station as you'll be involved in full plant commissioning, training & mobilisation.
We are looking for a Fuel Reception Technician to join the Operations Team on this brand new facility. As the Fuel Reception Technician you'll be supporting the wider team with the safe & efficient operation of the plant. This will include using mobile plant.

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Fuel Reception Technician you will be responsible for:
Assisting with loading and unloading operations within the fuel handling area and ash loading area.
Operation of mobile plant and machinery in accordance with the company's procedures
Operations of weighbridges when required and completing the necessary tickets associated.
Operation of overheard cranes to assist with fuel loading operations.
Carry out first line maintenance activities within the tipping hall area ensuring the CMMS is updated & accurate.
Keeping the fuel handling & ash area clean, tidy and free from obstruction.
Carry out inspections of waste arriving to site in the tipping hall to ensure compliance with the waste acceptance protocol and reporting any non-conformance.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Previous experience in heavy process industry, power plants particularly or waste handling facilities will be advantageous.
Previous experience in the operation of mobile plant equipment, fuel handling machines and forklift trucks with certification.
Have an understanding of Environmental health & safety within a within heavy industry.
Understanding of safe and efficient traffic management system within a busy environment.
Personal skills
The Fuel Reception Technician would suit someone with:
At least three years process operations experience.
Previous experience working in an Engineering environment, ideally working with Mobile Plant such as Telehandlers, Counter-Balance Forklift or similar.
Involvement in plant mobilisation and commissioning is desirable but not essential.
