SEN Teaching Assistant

Southend, Essex

TeacherActive is working with a Witham-based SEMH school. Students between the ages of 10 and 16 who have behavioural, emotional, social, and mental health (SEMH) problems are served by this institution. They are currently looking for confident individuals to join their team as learning support assistants.

Working in an outstanding school with first-rate facilities for both students and staff will give you a firsthand understanding of how these elements help kids reach their full potential and feel valued.

Students who struggle with attachment and children on the autism spectrum are supported by the school. Prior experience working with these needs is not necessary, although it would be desirable for the learning support assistant. If you are a motivated and caring individual who wants to have the biggest impact on these kids' lives, the school would be delighted to talk with you.

Working five days a week in this full-time employment will help you build strong relationships with both students and coworkers. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you feel that this is an opportunity for you despite not being able to work full-time.

It is mandatory for all school employees to have their updated DBS registered with the updating service. If not, we can assist you by sending you a direct application link. If you have worked overseas for more than six months in the last five years, you must obtain an OSPC (Overseas Police Check). These will be required in every school setting as a safety precaution.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience with SEND students as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
 Excellent classroom management
An NVQ Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification preferably
Child and Adult DBS
Experience working with Autism
In return for the above you can expect to receive:

A dedicated team of consultants available 24/7 to help you with the easy onboarding process
Guaranteed Payment Scheme *Terms and Conditions apply*
CPD Courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
Market leading rates of pay
