Job Overview

A leading engineering firm is looking for an experienced Mechanical Field Engineer / Technician to oversee the installation of mechanical systems on a high-profile project. The role involves supervising subcontractors, ensuring compliance with UK mechanical standards, and maintaining project quality across Fire Fighting, Sanitary Water, and Cooling Pipe Work Installations.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of:

* Fire Fighting Systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps)

* Sanitary Water Installations (hot & cold water, drainage, waste systems)

* Cooling Pipe Work (chilled water pipes, HVAC piping)
✔ Monitor subcontractors to ensure project specifications, timelines, and quality standards are met.
✔ Conduct QA/QC inspections and verify compliance with UK regulations.
✔ Review and oversee mechanical design documentation.
✔ Collaborate with ELV and electrical teams for system integration.
✔ Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical support.
✔ Ensure adherence to safety regulations.
✔ Maintain accurate records, reports, and as-built documentation.

Requirements

✅ Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
✅ Proven experience in Fire Fighting, Sanitary Water, and Cooling Pipe Work Installations on large-scale projects.
✅ Strong knowledge of UK (England & Wales) mechanical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
✅ Experience in managing subcontractors and conducting quality control inspections.
✅ Ability to read and interpret mechanical system drawings and technical specs.
✅ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
✅ Must have a valid work permit for the UK (England & Wales).
