About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tape Edger to join our team at a company based in the Leeds Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Tape Edge Machine to produce high-quality mattresses.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Operate sewing machine to stitch rolled edges of filled and tufted mattresses, reinforcing their boxlike shape or stitching padding and fabric covering around innersprings used in mattress production.

* Position mattresses on tables and adjust machines according to thickness, ensuring accurate stitching and precise edging.

* Roll and insert mattress edges under machine needles, starting and guiding the edge as the machine travels slowly around the table.

* Place innersprings on tables and spread felt or foam rubber padding and covering over springs, then insert edges of covering and border panels under needles and tape feed.

Requirements

Candidates must have experience using Tape Edge Machines to produce high-quality mattresses. A strong understanding of sewing machine operations and attention to detail is essential for this role.

Hours

Monday to Thursday 06:00-14:30 Friday 06:00-13:30

Starting salary £14.00 per hour DOE
