The department plays a key role in the communication process between them and the client, and also the other relevant departments linked to successfully constructing and installing a modular building on the client’s site. The successful candidate will provide support, assistance and expertise when assisting in the proposal of solutions as part of the bid process on high-value projects and identify and work to eliminate potential risks relating to value, design and programme at the pre-construction phase.

The Function of the Operations Department

* To deliver successful projects on time and budget from orders placed

* To provide business backup on logistic/design involvement before the order

* To drive quality required by the company that sells on reputation

* To undertake financial and operational responsibility for plant, logistics, sub-contractor packages, recording and processing site additions or alterations and snagging

* Provide effective processes for recording and response to defects, make good processes and aftercare.

Key Responsibilities for the Construction Planner

* Producing fully integrated programmes incorporating all disciplines (i.e. design, commercial, construction) based on output rates & benchmarking, with sufficient time risk allowances, terminal float/buffer to contractual completions and agreement with trade packages and production & monitoring of tender event schedule (TES) / procurement schedule

* Provide planning management support across all project phases, from pre-contract through to completion.

* Develop, manage, and update detailed project programmes by NEC contract requirements, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

* Manage and integrate change events into project schedules, ensuring full contractual entitlements with the support of the commercial team.

* Monitor and control project performance against the agreed programme baseline, producing accurate forecasts and reporting.

* Generate critical path analyses, short-term lookaheads, and sub-contractor schedules to keep the project on track.

* Assist in identifying risks and opportunities and develop recovery plans when needed.

* Collaborate with sub-contractors and stakeholders to ensure accurate programme data and maintain strong relationships.

* Reviewing subcontractor programme/logistics information, including their compliance with contract conditions

* Production of monthly client-progressed programmes and any supportive narrative for review and approval by project leads before submission.

Essential

* Minimum 3 years Project planning experience in construction projects.

* Strong knowledge of planning techniques, including critical path analysis and resource-loaded programme creation.

* Thorough understanding of JCT & NEC contracts, including compensation event management.

* Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Desired

* Qualification in Project Controls, Project Management, or a related field.

* Degree/HNC in Engineering or Construction.

* Familiarity with CEMAR for NEC contract management.

* Experience in developing claims
