Job Description

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of busy kitchens by providing essential support to chefs and kitchen staff. You will help maintain cleanliness, assist with food preparation, and ensure health and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation, such as chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients

• Keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste

• Ensuring all food hygiene and safety standards are maintained in line with regulations

• Stocking and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients

• Assisting with the storage of deliveries and ensuring correct stock rotation

• Following instructions from chefs and kitchen supervisors

• Working efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential

• A good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate is a plus)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Flexible approach to work, as shifts may vary depending on client needs

• Right to work in the UK
