Senior Mechanical Design Engineer sought – Cornwall. Build Maintain Recruit (BMR) are actively seeking Mechanical Design Engineers across the region, supporting a progressive and dynamic MEP Consultancy as they expand further.
  
We are seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team in Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of cutting-edge projects, leading the design and development of mechanical services (HVAC building services engineering) systems on varied schemes within the Southwest.
  
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design process, from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical services and systems.
Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand project goals and deliver solutions.   
Requirements:

Proven experience in mechanical design (HVAC / building services engineering services), ideally in a senior or lead capacity
Strong knowledge of building services engineering systems, components, and design software
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results within deadlines
Excellent communication and team-working skills
Degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or a related field
Ideally, MCIBSE or similar although that is a desirable
