Conveying Design Team Leader Location: Cumbria

About the Role A leading global provider of high-speed machinery solutions is seeking a Conveying Design Team Leader to drive the design, development, and delivery of innovative conveying systems. This role offers the opportunity to manage a team, oversee project timelines, and collaborate with internal departments and external clients to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions. Some international travel may be required (2–3 times per year).

Key Responsibilities
Design and visualise product lines using 3D and 2D CAD.
Lead and manage the Conveying Design Team, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Plan workloads and deadlines in coordination with senior management.
Work with sales and systems teams to define project requirements.
Oversee engineering change notes and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard, and within budget.
Identify and implement new processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Experience 
Essential

Extensive engineering experience (HNC or equivalent qualification).
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks & SolidWorks PDM.
Experience in 3D modelling, technical drawings (ISO standards), and manufacturing processes.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:

Knowledge of Inventor, AutoCAD, and MRP systems (training available).
Prior experience in a team leader role.
Willingness to learn new software and CAD systems.
