Our client, a specialist in restoration and conservation construction projects, is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Working on multiple projects, value £50,000 to £250,000, as the primary contact for all live projects, main duties for the Quantity Surveyor will include:
* Commercial Project Management of costs and risks for construction on projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
* Support estimating function with calculating the cost of materials, labour, and time for tenders
* Track costs throughout the project and create reports on profitability
* Advise on Contractual legal matters including risks and disputes
* Negotiate contracts and work schedules
* Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards
* Manage and issue variations
* Compile CVRs
* Prepare accounts for payment and settle final accounts
* Keep up to date with construction methods and materials
* Follow health and safety and building regulations
* Work closely with project managers, architects, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
* Attend prestart and ongoing progress meetings on site
Projects typically within 2 hour commute of Peterborough.
Key skills & experience required from the Quantity Surveyor include:
* Circa 5 years Quantity Surveyor/ Project Quantity Surveyor (PQS) experience
* Main contractor experience
* Confident and experienced in with client facing (architects, clients, contractors)
* Excellent planning, negotiation, problem solving and attention to detail skills
* Ability to build and maintain client relationships
* Excellent mathematical, analytical and logical skills
* Good grasp of Architectural Drawings/Details and be knowledgeable about the construction industry as whole
* Excellent IT skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
Salary £50,000 + Company Car
Benefits include 25 days holiday + company pension + car parking
Working hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week
