British Sugar is a home-grown success story and one of the most efficient and competitive beet processers in the world. Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. We, in turn, make this in to over 1 million tonnes of sugar, serving customers across the UK, Ireland and increasingly growing commercially in the EU and world sugar markets.
Contract Information Salary Range £30,815.22 to £30,815.22
Shift Work – Primarily Morning shift with the possibility of Afternoon shifts.
Job Purpose To be an active member of the production team, ensuring that you comply with all the site procedures. To Rework or tip to unsound, sugar that in its current form is not to the required food safe standard ensuring that full traceability and product quality is achieved which meet all quality standards and customer expectations.
Core Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring product is returned to the required customer standard during the Rework process.
Responsible for the correct disposing of tipped sugars in line with site procedures and standards.
Responsible for ensuring full traceability of product is maintained when Reworking/Tipping.
Accurately record all Rework/Tipped sugar as of the site procedures and standards.
Be able to follow the containment process ensuring all product is safely contained until returned to the required food safe standard.
Demonstrate to auditors (internal & external) as well as customers the food safe Reworking of finished products.
Proactive approach in identification, communication and achievement of continuous improvement.
Maintaining housekeeping standards ensuring no food safety risk.
To comply with site and business operational, health, safety & environmental and food safety procedures, work instructions and safe systems of work.
Ensure the production and despatch plans are met, to service customer requirements.
Escalate issues in a timely manner to Supervisor/Line Manager. Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Experience working within a FMCG environment, preferably food.
Experience of operating food packaging machinery - bag in box / form & fill / bag & stitch.
Awareness of HACCP and GMP practices.
Good communication skills including the accurate, legible recording of information. The following are desirable but not essential as full training will be provided if required in role.
