Role: Power Systems Application Engineering Manager

Location: Staffordshire (Hybrid)

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

Our client, a market leader in the Defence Marine industry is seeking an experienced Applications Engineering Manager to lead a BRAND NEW team through a transition to a configure-to-order model. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership in managing engineering teams with a focus on product design and delivery, plus experience in engineering processes and customer engagement. Power electronics experience is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and develop the engineering team, ensuring project delivery within budget and schedule.

* Drive the transition to a configure-to-order model, promoting modular design and process improvements.

* Oversee product design from concept to execution, aligning with customer expectations.

* Implement and optimise engineering processes in line with governance standards.

* Act as the technical lead in customer engagements, supporting bids and project delivery.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

* Proven experience managing engineering teams, focusing on product design and delivery.

* Strong project management, leadership, and customer engagement skills.

* Experience with engineering governance and process optimisation.

Preferred:

* Experience leading teams through business transformations.

* Knowledge of power electronics is beneficial but not essential.
