Functional Test Lead

My client, a forward-thinking leader in their sector, is seeking an experienced Functional Test Lead to join their expanding IT team. This pivotal role involves managing the testing of critical commercial applications and system integrations, ensuring they meet the highest quality, functionality, and performance standards. You will drive the company’s digital transformation, supporting core business functions such as CRM, sales, and operational efficiency.

As the Functional Test Lead, you will develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for various commercial software solutions, including Salesforce. You will lead testing efforts, ensuring systems perform as expected, are secure, and align with business requirements. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams, coordinating testing resources, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

The successful candidate will also drive the adoption of automated testing practices, improving efficiency across the team. You will oversee the entire testing lifecycle, from initial planning and execution to defect management and final reporting, ensuring seamless delivery of critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Testing Strategies: Design and implement tailored testing strategies for commercial applications, ensuring they meet high standards for performance and security.

Manage Testing Teams: Lead and coordinate testing activities across internal teams and third-party providers, ensuring the scalability and adaptability of resources.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work alongside developers, analysts, and project managers to ensure that all testing is aligned with project milestones and business goals.

Automation & Efficiency: Identify opportunities for test automation and work towards streamlining the testing processes using modern tools and techniques.

UAT Coordination: Oversee the User Acceptance Testing process, working with business stakeholders to ensure approval before launch.

Defect & Risk Management: Manage the defect lifecycle, ensuring all issues are documented, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner. Proactively assess potential risks and work to mitigate them.

Reporting & Documentation: Produce comprehensive reports on testing progress, performance, and outcomes for key stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Champion improvements in testing methodologies and processes to increase overall team efficiency and project delivery success.

Skills and Experience:

Extensive Testing Experience: Proven track record in testing commercial applications, particularly in CRM systems like Salesforce and integrations with external applications.

Testing Methodologies Expertise: Strong knowledge of testing lifecycles, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Defect Management Skills: Demonstrable experience in defect lifecycle management, from identification to resolution.

Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile environments, particularly in complex Salesforce deployments.

Automation Skills: Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium or Provar to streamline processes.

Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams within a testing environment, coordinating resources, and driving success.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to work with diverse teams across IT and business departments, ensuring alignment with project goals.
