When was the last time you felt you had a genuine impact?
Have you spent ages perfecting complex dashboards that you were told were business critical and were needed immediately, only to find they haven’t been refreshed in months…
Would you like to change that?
I’m working with a business where there has been some major investment into the IT team and the IT systems across the business and to do it right, they want to get serious about how they use their data, that’s where you come in.
You’ll have the flexibility to run through your problem-solving process, and the best part? This is a new implementation! There won’t be legacy operations, broken data sources or garbage data to contend with and a vendor to help with some of the support and heavy lifting.
There will be some challenges though. Change is a positive force but not everyone likes it, and you’ll need to empathise and educate, helping the users, stakeholders and decision makers translate what they need or want into actionable requirements, so good communications skills and traditional problem solving is a must.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be working as part of a wider implementation team and as part of a 10-man IT team, as the business looks to move to NetSuite. You’ll be building business intelligence solutions pulling data from a variety of data sources including NetSuite (Oracle SQL), Salesforce and traditional databases (SQL) developing dashboarding and visualisations to help make key business decisions.
You’ll be working closely with internal stakeholders, users, decision makers to understand their issues, how the business does things today and where it is trying to get to, so quickly familiarising yourself with the business processes, the key users and helping to build engagement will be an added benefit alongside enthusiasm for doing things better.
What you’ll need
As the implementation is already underway, you’ll need to be someone who can drop in and find your feet quickly. Some experience working with Qlik would be ideal as they’re using Qlik Sense but Qlik View would be ok too. If you have Power BI experience, this isn’t something we can entertain for this role, as there is no intention to move away from Qlik in the short to medium term.
Obviously, it would be ideal to have experience in SQL, which should really be a given for this type of role anyway
Bonus points for any experience in:
Well, NetSuite. Or other applicable ERP experience.
