Key Responsibilities of a Simulator Software Engineer:
* Collaborate with our Environment Simulation team to enhance solutions for current platforms and adopt next-gen development practices.
* Design, develop, and support engineering-based Environment Simulator software that enables the seamless integration of complex defence systems.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure a robust and efficient test engineering software capability from concept through to production.
* Operate within a software engineering lab environment with direct interaction with electronic circuitry and test equipment.
What We’re Looking For in a Simulator Software Engineer:
* Proven experience in software engineering, ideally with expertise in C, C++, or C#.
* Willingness to develop in Ada and other scripting languages to support current development needs.
* Background in Agile methodologies with a strong focus on quality software practices.
* Knowledge of automation, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
* Familiarity with communication and serial interfaces such as TFTP, Ethernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, Modbus, CAN, and 1553 buses.
* An advocate for software craftsmanship, including unit testing, test-driven development (TDD), and collaborative techniques like pair programming and lightweight design modelling.
