Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting primary-aged children within the ASC provision. Your responsibilities will include assisting with classroom activities, providing one-on-one support, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The children need positive role models who can engage with them and support their individual needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to deliver tailored support to students with ASC
Assist in the preparation and execution of lessons and activities
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring their needs are met
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Act as a positive role model, encouraging and motivating students
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions

SEN Teaching Assistant - Qualifications and Skills:

Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Understanding of the specific needs and challenges faced by children with ASC
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
Ability to hit the ground running and adapt quickly to the school's environment
