The Role
This is a key role withing the Communications team that will play an important part in shaping how we communication our company mission externally. Our mission to help people to find jobs and develop their careers and help businesses find the talent they need to succeed.
This is a hands-on role, which requires top organisational and creative skills to design, execute and deliver a first-class PR strategy.
The ideal candidate will have several years' proven experience driving PR campaigns, a strong network of media contacts, and a nose for a story. You might have gained these working in-house within a PR or digital PR role, or within an agency setting. We're also open to hearing from candidates looking to transfer into PR and communications from journalism, particularly those used to writing about the labour market, personal finance trends, or the wider world of work. This role will report directly to the Head of Brand and Communications.
Responsibilities
· Manage all in-house PR activity to hit media KPIs: Securing a consistent drumbeat of high quality, relevant media coverage in the national, regional, trade and broadcast media via seasonal and reactive PR campaigns. This requires both strategic and agile tactical responsiveness and the ability to mobilise at pace
· Expand our press presence in the US: While the priority is maintaining and growing momentum in the UK media, you will also work to make in-roads in the US media to raise awareness of Resume-Library
· Be a thought-leader: You will generate new ideas for press stories, articles and white papers, working closely with our marketing and data teams to provide genuinely helpful insights on the jobs market for both job seekers and hiring managers
· Storytelling via data analysis: Translate data to craft compelling news content, whitepapers, and social media posts to engage both customers and candidates
· Use digital PR tactics to maximise links to the website: You will understand the growing importance of SEO in PR strategies, working to maximise backlinks from news authorities globally, via data-driven PR
· Build media relations: Manage all journalist lists, developing and maintaining relationships with key journalists in the UK and US
· Own company announcements with the press: Including key partnerships, integrations with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), new product innovations and other notable milestones
· Own all PR reporting: Maintain coverage lists and press pages globally
· Content creation: Work alongside the wider communications team to take our advisory and data-led employer and job seeker content to the next level
· Social media management: Support the wider communications team in creating content for social media platforms, with a focus on LinkedIn, and respond agilely to social media opportunities
· Awards coordination: Coordinate awards submissions, contribute to entries, and support presentations
Requirements
· 3-5+ years of experience in a PR or communications role
· Demonstrable experience of media relations, press release writing, journalist relations and digital PR
· A love for storytelling, particularly when it comes to inspiring those looking for work
· Analytical, strong with numbers and able to turn large data sets into press releases, insights or great content
· Media hustle - thriving equally whether arranging fast-paced broadcast media or planning long term features
· Ability to lead on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively. You have an equal willingness towards rolling up your sleeves and taking a step back to see the big picture
· Excellent relationship-building skills and verbal communication abilities, with proven ability to influence internal and external senior stakeholders
· Knowledge/experience of social media and/or social community building
