The Position of a Design Technician:

We are looking for a Design Technician. In this role you will create drawings of the client’s products for customers, demonstrating how space can be utilised optimally. These designs include details of the type and quantity of materials to be used, which allows the Sales team to generate quotations.

Skills & Requirements of a Design Technician:

* 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

* Experience working within architectural/construction projects.

* Good understanding of architectural design and space planning.

* Strong communication skills, both written and spoken on email, Teams, phone, messaging.

* Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and various stages.

* Experience of Revit is desirable.

Main Responsibilities of a Design Technician:

* Following hand drawn surveys of buildings and / or predefined CAD files in order to produce empty building layouts, which can be turned into class leading self-storage facilities.

* Designs will include simple self-storage room layouts, “cut and carves”, simple mezzanine floor designs through to turn-key designs involving complex multi-trade designs involving multi-tier mezzanine floors, building regulations, fire rating, access control and everything related to the industry.

* You will be required to support the Operations team who will manage your projects on site by passing on relevant project details and helping them to overcome any on-site challenges.

* Produce accurate “take offs” of material quantities for the Sales team to use when providing quotations to customers.

* Consulting with Sales Managers and Project Managers in order to ascertain any further required information about the project – e.g. construction details or installation methods, to ensure that your completed plans meet with all parties expectations.

* Create as built plans of works completed on site
