Commercial Director – Super High-End Contractor – Central London

An exclusive opportunity has opened for a Commercial Director to join a renowned contractor specialising in ultra-high-end residential and commercial projects across Central London.
With individual project values up to £100m, this Commercial Director role is ideal for a hands-on professional looking to shape the future of high-profile projects in London.
The Commercial Director will manage a portfolio of landmark projects, leading a team of 6 surveyors, and will oversee the entire commercial lifecycle, from PQQ to aftercare. With a strong commitment to quality and precision, the Commercial Director will be an integral part of delivering projects that set the standard in luxury construction.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Director:
• Commercial Director will direct the commercial management of multiple high-end projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the contractor’s standards of excellence.
• The Commercial Director will oversee projects from the pre-qualification stage through first/second stage and on to aftercare, embodying a “sleeves-rolled-up” approach for full project accountability.
• Mentor and lead a team of surveyors, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture under the guidance of the Commercial Director, while guiding team members to achieve both individual and project goals.
• Implement strict budget controls, manage CVRs, and proactively address risks to meet financial and operational objectives under the Commercial Director's direction.
• Act as the main commercial point of contact for clients, with the Commercial Director building strong relationships and leading negotiations to drive project success and long-term partnerships.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum of 7 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or higher, ideally with a stable career path suited to a Commercial Director.
• Expertise in cost control, team leadership, and full project lifecycle management, all key to success as a Commercial Director.
• Knowledge of major contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential, with MRICS status preferred.
• Significant experience in luxury residential or high-spec commercial projects.
Salary and Package for the Commercial Director:
• Salary up to £130,000
• Car Allowance up to £9,000
• Profit-related annual bonus up to £20,000
