This standard biodiversity/ecological officer role is a part-time position working, ideally 2 days a week but 1-2 days per week will be considered - flexible hybrid arrangement (at least 1 day office based).
This interim arrangement for a period of 3-6 months seeks to provide biodiversity, ecological/BNG knowledge and support to a small team and to process any outstanding Planning applications (includes prioritisation of paid for service) whilst recruitment is ongoing to fill a vacant substantive post.
Looking for someone who :
· has a relevant degree qualification in ecology or related subject or equivalent experience
· is ideally CIEMMA qualified
· has a working knowledge and understanding of the Environment Act and the mandatory requirements/application in relation to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)
· has proven experience in the field (particularly BNG) to be able to offer ecological/biodiversity advice to colleagues, applicants, agents and developers at all stages.
· has experience of working in a planning Development Management environment dealing with planning applications, preapplications and condition discharge details; ideally have experience with a local authority or have an awareness of their policies, processes and procedures
