Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Solar PV Installer to join our growing team. As the lead installer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. You will ensure that all projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage installation teams: Direct the work of junior installers and subcontractors, ensuring proper safety practices and quality standards are maintained.
* Install solar PV systems: Perform full solar PV installations including panels, inverters, and monitoring systems (roof and ground-mounted systems).
* Electrical wiring and connections: Handle all electrical aspects of the installation, including wiring, grounding, and interconnection to the utility grid.
* Site assessments: Evaluate installation sites, taking accurate measurements, and assessing environmental conditions (e.g., shading, roof condition).
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Diagnose and fix problems with solar installations, ensuring systems operate efficiently and meet client expectations.
* System testing and commissioning: Perform testing and verification of system performance, including electrical output, connectivity, and safety protocols.
* Compliance and safety: Ensure all work is in compliance with national and local electrical codes, and adhere to relevant safety standards (e.g., Health & Safety regulations).
* Client communication: Liaise with clients regarding installation progress, system operation, and maintenance requirements.
* Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork, including permits, inspection reports, and installation records.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in solar PV installation.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications
* Electrical expertise: Strong knowledge of solar PV systems
* Technical skills: Familiarity with TESLA, Sun Sink or similar solar installation systems and related software.
* Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.
* Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to quality control and system performance testing.
* Driving license: Full clean driving license required.
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with battery storage systems and energy management technologies.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
