About Us
Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team in a post-16 setting. Our goal is to empower young adults by providing individualised academic support, helping them achieve GCSE-level qualifications and equipping them with the skills they need to transition into adulthood confidently.

Role Overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with young adults on a 1:1 basis, supporting them in core GCSE subjects. This role requires patience, creativity, and a genuine desire to help each student reach their potential and develop essential skills for adult life. You’ll be instrumental in creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 support in core GCSE subjects, adapting materials and methods to suit each learner’s pace and style.
Assist in developing personal skills that promote independence and life readiness, such as problem-solving and effective communication.
Help to implement and track personalised learning plans to ensure steady academic progress.
Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment, building strong relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure cohesive support for each learner.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a motivated and empathetic professional who is passionate about education and supporting young adults. The ideal candidate will have:

Experience in a learning support role, particularly with students aged 16+.
Knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and confidence in assisting with core subjects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults.
Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach to adapt to each student’s unique needs.
Requirements

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
Previous experience in a similar role or relevant qualification in Education, Support Work, or related fields.
A passion for supporting young adults in an educational setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
