Our clients are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join their exciting small team in Hampshire. You will join the R&D department to develop mission-critical software on the Android platform. You will also help develop the next generation Linux-based platform in collaboration with hardware engineers. 

Responsibilities
• Develop cutting-edge automotive software solutions, written primarily in Java for use on the current Android platform and in the future a Linux-based environment.
• Carry out research and development activities to advance the software platform to stay at the cutting edge of the industry.
• Develop and execute test cases at the unit and system level.
• Manage multiple ongoing projects and effectively communicate progress with the rest of the team.

Requirements
• Experience developing Java applications (Java 5 or greater).
• Familiarity with user interface and user experience design.
• Software testing and debugging experience.
• Comfortable reading datasheets and API specifications and understanding their implications.
• Knowledge and understanding of basic network architecture.
• Confident with version control systems (Git).
• Valid UK driving license.
